Rare Gem Mason

Sometimes the most interesting crias come from bringing together two different but complementary genetic foundations. Rare Gem Mason is out of one of our most treasured senior females, Accoyo America Shasta Daisy, and sired by Rare Gem Divine X.

Daisy brings generations of proven Accoyo genetics. Her sire, Accoyo America Jason, was a six-time color champion and three-time consecutive AOBA National brown male champion. Her pedigree also carries influential Accoyo names including PCA Accoyo El Nino, PPeruvian Caligula, and PPeruvian Camilio.

Divine X brings a very different but complementary package. Sired by Rare Gem X Man and out of Snowmass Divine Eclipse, his pedigree blends Rare Gem’s Appaloosa program with elite Snowmass fleece genetics, including Snowmass XXXtreme, Snowmass Divine Love, 4Peruvian Legacy, and Accoyo America Sai-Hoji.

Mason is the result of intentionally bringing those two foundations together — established Accoyo genetics on his dam’s side with the Snowmass and Rare Gem influences carried by his sire. It is a combination we are excited to explore as we continue building the next generation of the Rare Gem herd.

Mason is a handsome light-colored male with an appealing head, balanced proportions, and a soft, crimpy fleece beginning to develop. It is far too early to know exactly what Mason will become, but he certainly has plenty of pedigree and possibility behind him.

His name turned out to be especially fitting. Mason is a subtle nod to his influential grandsire, Accoyo America Jason, while also reflecting the idea of building something new from strong foundations. This pairing represents an intentional blending of genetics we value from both sides of his pedigree, and we are excited to watch him develop.

For now, we are simply enjoying watching Daisy raise one more beautiful baby and seeing where Mason’s story takes him.
