Irish Meadows' Elite Max

Huacaya Herdsire (Male) White

AOA# 35366836 DOB: 10/23/20167 yrs
After months of quietly but persistently pestering Mike and Julie Delaney of Irish Meadows Alpacas, we finally got them to agree to sell us half of their amazing 27x Champion (including 9 Judges’ Choice awards) Herdsire, Irish Meadows’ Elite Max late last year! We first got an up close look at Elite Max when Bataclan and Ian had the good/ill fortune (all about perspective) of standing next to him in the yearling class at the 2018 Futurity, one of his many aforementioned Championships. Needless t ...

Handsome Harlequin Male!

~Rare Gem Camouflage (Harlequin)

Huacaya Jr. Herdsire (Male) Medium Fawn, Dark Silver Grey, True Black

AOA#  DOB: 11/15/20212 yrs
It is with great excitement that we introduce this handsome harlequin appaloosa son of Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia and elite-fleeced, Running Late's Peaches and Cream. Peaches was purchased in 2019 for her outstanding fiber traits, beautiful phenotype, pedigree and patterned fleece. She does not carry an appaloosa or harlequin in her pedigree, but is an expressed pattern so she was included in the appy/harley program as a potential for throwing just what we want. In 2019, she was paired with ...

Details
Freya is an elite-fleeced 3X champion daughter of Irish Meadows' Elite Max co-owned by Irish Meadows and Cas-Cad-Nac Farms. Elite Max is known for his very rare Merino type fleece and his illustrious show career which includes 28 championships including AOA National Supreme Champion Light Male and 9 Judges Choice Awards.

Irish Meadows' Elite Max owners say, "You haven't seen light fleece until you have seen Elite Max! He has the fleece of the future!".

Freya was shown 8 times in 2022 and brought home 8 blue ribbons and two color championships!

For Freya's maiden breeding, she was paired with appaloosa herdsire, Rare Gem X-Man. The cria is a handsome young male with dense bundles of curly fleece from day one. Offspring Oz is white with minimal fawn spots. So for Freya's 2023 breeding, we decided to up the color pattern possibility a notch by breeding her to our harlequin appaloosa herdsire, Rare Gem Camouflage. Camo has a second black allele increasing the amount of spotting with a darker pigmentation. This pairing will also create the possibility of a harlequin offspring. Camo is out of the exquisitely fleeced Running Late's Peaches and Cream and the highly expressive harlequin male that was a cornerstone of our program for years-- Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia. Based upon the parents' color genotypes and pedigrees, this offspring has a high probability of being appaloosa or harlequin. ... and stunning fleece, for sure!

Freya is a fantastic mum with great maternal instincts. Her first birthing was unassisted resulting in a healthy cria that gained almost 1 pound per day from the get go.
